The Creative MED Toolkit aims at:
To translate this methodological approach to a set of tools, indicators and tools for possible intervention on a specific region, first it´s necessary to have a territorial analysis model which enables us a benchmarking exercise.. With the aim of reaching the objectives of the Europe2020 Strategy, the European Commission has conditioned the disbursement of European Regional Development Funds under the thematic objectives most directly related to research and innovation, on the existence of RIS3. These are defined as integrated, place-based economic transformation agendas that focus policy support and investments on key challenges and needs for knowledge-based development, building on national/regional strengths, competitive advantages and potential for excellence (European Commission, 2012). What we propose to the MED regions is a first analysis about the necessary Preconditions to be in contexts where it is possible to activate this Mediterranean Way to Innovation.
